The TIED Council (TIED is an acronym for Technology, Innovation, Education and Development) was developed to serve as resource of trusted advisors to increase all chamber members technology knowledge, helping them to understand how technology can enhance their business and to give Valley technology leaders a forum for collaboration and innovation and to bring awareness to local technology resource s providing support, answers, education, development, and information in the technology field(s) to our chamber members.

Compromised of individuals and companies within and without the technology industry including but not limited to; Cyber Security, Computer networking, Computer productivity, data usage, internet presence, social media, software training, and data analytics. The TIED Council coordinates ongoing informative seminars on technology issues affecting area businesses. The council meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 AM (with exception of holidays when the meeting will be scheduled to a later date in the month). Membership in the Greater Valley Chamber is required for membership in the group; however, anyone is welcome to come to any meeting to learn more.

Seeds to Leads is a category exclusive networking group. Their group goals are to build trusting personal and professional relationships that lead to professional referrals and business success. S2L members hold one another accountable for the services they offer and the professional handling of their cross referrals so they all may continue to grow and prosper. Guest speakers visit to educate them on issues relevant to the times. They meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month.

Valley Business Network is a category-exclusive networking group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. VBN members represent a variety of industries and professions. The group's objective is to be a forum for relationship building with the goal of helping members to grow their networks. Additionally, VBN helps members become more informed business people, by sharing their expertise and learning from educational presentations provided by members and guest speakers.

Robin Imbrogno, President & CEO, Founder, The Human Resource Consulting Group

Ms. Imbrogno earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Management/Counseling from the University of Bridgeport, plus a B.S. in Business Administration/Management, and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Mercy College.

Robin is a recognized leader in the business community as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), The American Payroll Association (APA), The Independent Payroll Providers Association (IPPA,) The Payroll Group (TPG) as Secretary on the Board of Directors, and a former recipient of the Association for Women in Communications award (WIC).

Ms. Imbrogno holds board positions as President for The Payroll Group (TPG), board member for the Women’s Business Development Council and Co-Chair of the CBIA's Labor & Employment Law Council. Past positions include HR officer at Village Savings Banks in New York and Citytrust in Bridgeport, CT. Robin has served as adjunct professor for the Management and Business departments at the University of Bridgeport, Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, and Albertus Magnus. Our October topic is How to Write and Self Publish a Book featuring speaker is Tanya Detrik. an award-winning writer, an author, a ghostwriter and a professional speaker.

In both speaking and her own writing, she focuses on presenting the power of perspective as a tool of awareness and personal growth. As a ghostwriter, she consults with and writes for professionals who wish to add a book to their list of accomplishments.

Her first book, Waking Up with Nora, is a memoir of self-discovery and personal transformation in grandparenting her special needs granddaughter. All proceeds from the book go to helping special needs children. In 2018, her speech about special needs caregiving, delivered to an international audience, won her a Connecticut and a National Press Club award.

Tanya is in the process of writing her second book, Good Grief, about the power of perspective as it relates to the grieving process.

The Women In Networking (WIN) Council was formed as a way to share hurdles unique to women in business by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere that is supportive, educational & dynamic. Members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners, and key players in B2B services.

In addition, WIN developed an Entrepreneurial Grant Program for Women In Business in the six Valley communities served by the Greater Valley Chamber. The WIN members host "Headshots at SchmoozaPalooza" and "WINGO" as fundraisers to support this grant and their fund with the Valley Community Foundation. Since the Grant was created $49,950 has been distributed to 54 women-owned businesses in the #ValleyCT. They also have a named fund through the Valley Community Foundation.

They meet the 2^nd Tuesday of each month -- Coffee & Networking 8:00 am - 8:15 am; Meeting starts at 8:15 am. Those looking succeed, achieve & prosper through sharing individual knowledge, skills and resources are welcome.

Greater Valley Chamber Membership is required to belong to the group. Area women in business are welcome to attend one meeting as a guest prior to joining. For more information contact the Chamber today.

Anyone interested in learning more about the monthly topic is welcome to attend our meetings held the third Friday each month starting at 8:15 am.
