WIN Entrepreneurial Grant Due Date 10/1/2021

The Women in Networking Entrepreneurial Grant program provides financial assistance to women 18 years of age or older who's business is located in the Greater Valley towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, Seymour or Shelton. The money is intended as grant-in-aid for expenses to enhance the applicant's current business or to start a business. The grant may be used for expenses such as equipment, marketing, training/certification/recertification courses necessary to reach the applicant's business goals.

Since it's inception in 2004, the WIN Entrepreneurial Grant has supported the dreams of 61 women-owned businesses through grants and scholarships totaling close to $60,000. Due the members’ outstanding passion for philanthropy and helping others, in 2007 the Grant Committee established the WIN Entrepreneurial Grant Fund through the Valley Community Foundation to ensure it will continue for future generations.

Women-owned business in the Valley (Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, Seymour or Shelton) can contact us for a copy of the 2021 application. Application due date is Friday, October 1st. Distribution of funds will be in early December 2021.

This month's meeting topic is: to be announced.

The TIED Council was developed to serve as resource of trusted advisors. It is a way to help bring an understanding of how technology can enhance business - and that is not as scary as it may seem. It is a forum for collaboration and innovation for Valley technology leaders as well as a way to bring awareness to local resources providing support, answers, education, development, and information in the technology fields. (TIED is an acronym for Technology, Innovation, Education and Development). The TIED Council coordinates regular informative seminars on technology issues affecting area businesses.

Compromised of individuals and companies including but not limited to; Cyber Security, Computer networking, Computer productivity, data usage, internet presence, social media, software training, data analytics and those not in the industry but interested in learning.

The council meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 AM (with exception of holidays when the meeting will be scheduled to a later date in the month). Membership in the Greater Valley Chamber is required for membership in the group; however, anyone is welcome to come to any meeting to learn more about the group or about the topic of the month.

We will again be hosting this as a hybrid meeting from the Chamber office. There is a limit of 10 people in the Chamber Conference Room and masks are required. Please register if you are planning to attend either way in-person or virtually.

The Women In Networking (WIN) Council was formed as a way to share hurdles unique to women in business by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere that is supportive, educational & dynamic. Members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners, and key players in B2B services.

In addition, WIN developed an Entrepreneurial Grant Program for Women In Business in the six Valley communities served by the Greater Valley Chamber. a variety of fundraisers to support this grant and their fund with the Valley Community Foundation. Since the Grant was created over $58,000 has been distributed to 63 women-owned businesses in the #ValleyCT. They also have a named fund through the Valley Community Foundation.

Greater Valley Chamber Membership is required to belong to the group. Area women in business are welcome to attend one meeting as a guest prior to joining. For more information contact the Chamber today.

He will help us to gain an understanding of the appropriate terminology and learn how to be a better ally to the LGBTQ community.
