This month's meeting topic is: to be announced.

The TIED Council was developed to serve as resource of trusted advisors. It is a way to help bring an understanding of how technology can enhance business - and that is not as scary as it may seem. It is a forum for collaboration and innovation for Valley technology leaders as well as a way to bring awareness to local resources providing support, answers, education, development, and information in the technology fields. (TIED is an acronym for Technology, Innovation, Education and Development). The TIED Council coordinates regular informative seminars on technology issues affecting area businesses.

Compromised of individuals and companies including but not limited to; Cyber Security, Computer networking, Computer productivity, data usage, internet presence, social media, software training, data analytics and those not in the industry but interested in learning.

The council meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8:00 AM (with exception of holidays when the meeting will be scheduled to a later date in the month). Membership in the Greater Valley Chamber is required for membership in the group; however, anyone is welcome to come to any meeting to learn more.

Valley Business Network is a category-exclusive networking group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. VBN members represent a variety of industries and professions. The group's objective is to be a forum for relationship building with the goal of helping members to grow their networks. Additionally, VBN helps members become more informed business people, by sharing their expertise and learning from educational presentations provided by members and guest speakers.

The Women In Networking (WIN) Council was formed as a way to share hurdles unique to women in business by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere that is supportive, educational & dynamic. Members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners, and key players in B2B services.

In addition, WIN developed an Entrepreneurial Grant Program for Women In Business in the six Valley communities served by the Greater Valley Chamber. The WIN members host "Headshots at SchmoozaPalooza" and "WINGO" as fundraisers to support this grant and their fund with the Valley Community Foundation. Since the Grant was created over $58,000 has been distributed to 63 women-owned businesses in the #ValleyCT. They also have a named fund through the Valley Community Foundation.

Greater Valley Chamber Membership is required to belong to the group. Area women in business are welcome to attend one meeting as a guest prior to joining. For more information contact the Chamber today.

Seeds to Leads is a category exclusive networking group. Their group goals are to build trusting personal and professional relationships that lead to professional referrals and business success. S2L members hold one another accountable for the services they offer and the professional handling of their cross referrals so they all may continue to grow and prosper. With the Legislative session in Hartford underway, please join us for a conversation with the members of our local Legislative Delegation to discuss issues impacting the Valley business community. Legislators are reaching out to hear from you about your priorities.

This special forum will be held on the virtual platform - Airmeet. The doors will open at 7:45 am allow for "table-to-table" networking for all attendees. The program will begin promptly at 8:00 am.

Due to the limited time for this program, please submit your questions in advance to Nancie at the Chamber office. Time permitting, we will bring people up on stage to ask their pre-submitted questions and will also take questions in the chat area.

Comprised of individuals and companies in the Healthcare Industry including medical, insurance and care services, the Healthcare Council is a committee of the Greater Valley Chamber with a purpose to educate members, the business community, consumers, and government representatives on ways to reduce employee absenteeism costs, increase worker productivity and reduce overall healthcare costs.

Anyone interested in learning more about the monthly topic is welcome to attend our meetings held the third Friday each month starting at 8:15 am.

Or... are you someone that marched last year with the BLM movement? Someone on a journey to recognize the need for deprogramming of our psychology? The race focus and need to do better and wondering, HOW? How can I understand and do and be better?

Or... Are you someone in between?

Well, we are creating a bi-weekly book club to read and discuss Stamped, originally written by Ibram X. Kendi, and then Remixed for everyone's reading ease and understanding. We will have it broken down into section and discussed. We are coming to the table with a genuine curiosity and desire to do and be better. So, come with your book, and your honesty, and your personal perspectives.

The first meeting will just be to say hi, intro the group and get an idea of how we're looking at this.
If you can't make it to every meeting, that's ok. It's ideal if you do, but we understand everyone has lives. If you haven't fully finished the reading, still come, the conversation will be valuable no matter what.
We want you there!

This is open to folks statewide driven by the Young Professionals groups across the state.
