Valley Business Network is a category-exclusive networking group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. VBN members represent a variety of industries and professions. The group's objective is to be a forum for relationship building with the goal of helping members to grow their networks. Additionally, VBN helps members become more informed business people, by sharing their expertise and learning from educational presentations provided by members and guest speakers.

This month's topic: Summer Field Trip presented by Spice Catering Group

July is a great time for a field trip to Spice Catering Group’s Sage Banquet Hall (73 High Street, Derby). Debbie Salce, Catering and Event Sales Manager, will be providing an overview of Sage and Spice Catering Group, and event hints and tips.

Executive Chef Tim will be serving homemade crepes; french toast casserole with fresh berries, cream cheese and maple syrup; egg, cheese and vegetable frittata; breakfast potatoes; and assorted breakfast breads. He will also conduct an Open Q&A forum so please have your questions ready. If you enjoy Tequila, be sure to ask him about a recommendation, because he is a Certified Tequila Master.

We are looking forward to having you join us for food, fun and fellowship!

This group is mostly meeting in-person and offers a link to join the meeting virtually if you prefer for those meetings. There are a few meetings during the year when they will meet offsite from the Chamber office and those will be in-person only.

The Women In Networking (WIN) Council was formed as a way to share hurdles unique to women in business by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere that is supportive, educational & dynamic. Members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners, and key players in B2B services. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month -- Coffee & Networking prior to the start of the meeting. Those looking succeed, achieve & prosper through sharing individual knowledge, skills and resources are welcome.

In addition, WIN developed an Entrepreneurial Grant Program for Women In Business in the six Valley communities served by the Greater Valley Chamber. a variety of fundraisers to support this grant and their fund with the Valley Community Foundation. Since the Grant was created over $78,000 has been distributed to 86 women-owned businesses in our #ValleyCT. They also have a named fund through the Valley Community Foundation.

Seeds to Leads is a category exclusive networking group. Their group goals are to build trusting personal and professional relationships that lead to professional referrals and business success. S2L members hold one another accountable for the services they offer and the professional handling of their cross referrals so they all may continue to grow and prosper. Guest speakers visit to educate them on issues relevant to the times. They meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month.

Comprised of individuals and companies in the Healthcare Industry including medical, insurance and care services, the Healthcare Council is a committee of the Greater Valley Chamber with a purpose to educate members, the business community, consumers, and government representatives on ways to reduce employee absenteeism costs, increase worker productivity and reduce overall healthcare costs. The Healthcare Council meets the third Friday of each month.

Close your eyes and imagine a warm summer’s day in July. You’re at one of the nicest golf courses in the state, about to tee off. Shorts, polo shirts and great company….warmer temperatures are finally here and so is the Greater Valley Chamber’s 29th Annual Golf Classic!

Whether entertaining clients, building business relationships with potential customers/vendors, rewarding exemplary employees with time out of the office or generating positive community relations for your organization, you will enjoy a day of camaraderie and sport while supporting the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce. Fore, where there is golf, there is business.

The format is a four-person scramble, and awards are given to the top teams, the longest drive (men & ladies), closest to the pin (men & ladies) and more. Registration includes 18-holes of golf, cart, breakfast, lunch, and beverages on the course. Not to mention, the opportunities to win not one but two - yes 2 - Vehicle Hole-in-One Contests presented by Curtiss-Ryan Honda and Mario D'Addario Buick GMC Cadillac!

Back by popular demand is our 9:00 am Shotgun start with check-in starting at 8:00 am so you can be home in time to enjoy your evening with family and friends.

This is a fun day out on the course featuring the opportunity to win some great prizes plus the ever-popular Power Play Pack along with the a variety of food, beverage and other options from our Table on the Tee hosts.

Get in early for premium sponsorship exposure. Sponsorships are available ranging from $225 - $4000. Contact Nancie or Laura for complete information on sponsorship opportunities.

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Spaces are limited. Tournament is played rain or shine, but may be cancelled in extreme weather conditions at the discretion of the course. Registration is good for the tournament date requested and confirmed only. Fee is non-refundable. Entries with less than 4 (four) players will be paired by the tournament committee. Be sure to include names and email addresses for all golfers. The Pro at Race Brook utilizes Golf Genius and needs that information.

Funds raised by this event are used to further the Chamber's mission of creating a strong local economy, promoting the Greater Valley region, advocating on behalf of local businesses, and connecting area business people.
