We bought a sectional from this company. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The selection of furniture and fabric was extensive. They worked with us to find the proper size and fabric that would fit into our household with dogs. The delivery was excellent. It took awhile to get this sectional into our house. It was done in a very professional manner. They took away the old sectional at the same time. Everything was so convenient for us. I would highly recommend this company.

If you're looking for a furniture store with quality merchandise and old fashion service take a look at Spector. I didn't think this type of store existed anymore. Highly recommend this business.

Every interaction we've had with them has been outstanding - from the initial visit to select the furniture, through the sale process, and on to the final delivery. My family and I had a very pleasant experience at Spector Furniture. We were looking for a recliner, the kind with a handle, at some of the other furniture stores and weren't having any luck. Not only did those stores not have what we were looking for, the staff members weren't attentive to our needs. When we were about to give up looking, I remembered seeing an ad for Spector Furniture and we thought to try them out.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were very impressed and happy with our time there. We were greeted at the door and directed to the large selection of recliners. Kenny is the perfect salesperson who helped us out, didn't pressure us to buy anything, yet answered any questions we had, and gave us time to try out as many recliners that we wanted. The customer service at Spector is above and beyond those big furniture stores! The stock of items was very expansive, especially recliners with the handle that none of the other stores are willing to sell anymore! We were out of the door within an hour and within another hour, someone had picked up the chair in their SUV and it was home! We are definitely planning on returning to refurnish our entire living room!

So if you are looking for high quality furniture at more than reasonable pricing, at a store with excellent customer service, I would highly recommend a visit to Spector Furniture.

UPDATE: We were waiting for an order for an extender for the recliner lever and it came pretty promptly. Not only did they install it, but one the owners personally came out and did it in about one minute!! They are very professional!!

Thank you , Spector Furniture! I brought my elderly client here (I'm a caregiver) to purchase a Lazy Boy recliner. We could not have been happier with the entire experience! She was treated with respect and patience. She was not pressured in any way to make a decision. All of her questions were answered. They had a lot of chairs to choose from. Once my client decided on the one that was the most comfortable and had the proper fit, she got to pick the color she would like. My client was really sold on the idea that they offer free delivery and for a small fee they offer removal.
I brought my client here because I asked a few other clients where they purchased their recliners. Word of mouth is everything! Spector was recommended to us and we want to recommend them to others! Howie was exceptional!
My client does have to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery, but that's because she ordered a chair that wasn't in stock. She doesn't mind waiting and she felt good about spending her money somewhere that she felt her business was appreciated!

If Yelp allowed me to give six stars to Spector Furniture, I would, in a flash. The folks at Spector were wonderfully helpful when we were looking for a new sofa -- listening carefully to our thoughts about what we were looking for and to our questions, suggesting a wide range of alternatives without trying to steer us, and charging a reasonable price for a sofa in precisely the size we wanted and a fabric of our choice. (Though it would not have been a deal-breaking matter, we were also very happy to purchase a sofa made in the USA.) Before we found Spector, we must have gone to eight or ten furniture stores around southern and central Connecticut, most of them with well-known names and notably higher prices (but sales staff far less knowledgeable and patient than what we met at Spector). It was a delightful surprise to find that a family-owned business, less than half an hour from us, offered far and away the best shopping and buying experience.

I have to add: Spector's delivery service was also outstanding. They called when the sofa arrived at the store (in the time frame they had promised), and they were very flexible when family obligations caused us to ask for rescheduling of the delivery. The delivery guys were great! The new sofa came in immaculate condition. At the time we purchased it, we had asked if the delivery men would be able to move the sleeper sofa that occupied the space in our living room that the new sofa would occupy. But we were asking for them not to simply take it away, which Spector offered to do for a very modest charge, but to move it to a sun porch in our home - a move that would require carrying it out the front door and then back in through a side door accessed through a tight turn from an elevated wooden platform. We knew the sofa bed was a very heavy beast, even with its mattress removed, and we weren't sure whether it would fit through the side door. But the guys from Spector, after careful inspection of the side entrance and tying down the sleeper's innards, managed to move it no damage to the old behemoth, or to any part of the house or themselves. They really knew what they were doing.

Living in Hamden and rarely finding ourselves in Ansonia, we had somehow never heard of Spector Furniture. But now we can't imagine going anywhere else as our first destination for new furniture.

Spector furniture in Ansonia is probably one of the best places you can go to look at and buy furniture for your home. The best reason is that there is no pressure, which I like. There is not a sea of sales sharks in suits at the door waiting to pounce on you and follow you around the store. They are very helpful, but do not attempt to force you into a purchase. There are lots of items in the store to look at and try. Well recommended!

I ordered a TV bookcase/ entertainment center from Spector. They matched a price I came in with from the Internet and gave me 4 months free financing. I thought it was interesting that they did this informally, and more-or-less on a handshake.

After I had ordered and put down the deposit, I saw the same piece for hundreds cheaper at a different furniture store and asked Spector to match the price. They did this without a hassle and sent me a new receipt. The experience was stress-free and I felt like I was dealt with honestly. As for their price being initially higher--people have to make a living and it's on the consumer to shop around.

The delivery came on time and the delivery men were careful not to scuff anything up in the house. I would definitely go here again.
